To ensure the uniform application of the grading standards in all the production areas, different grading and classification courses are presented by Cotton SA. In the courses, the following aspects are concentrated on:
- Introduction to grading standards.
- Factors determining grade.
- The grading and classification system as applied by Cotton SA.
- Explanation of the more important measurable fibre properties.
- Introduction to the grading and classification of raw cotton/seed cotton.
- Introduction to HVI testing.
- Minimum specifications with regard to grade and quality applicable in the present grading systems.
